Dixie Longate Brings Her Tupperware Party to Grand Victoria Casino in March

Thursday Feb 22, 2018

After taking New York, the UK and Australia by storm, Dixie Longate - the fast-talking Tupperware Lady - is bringing her wares to the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, IL on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 as part of her national tour.

Ms. Longate, the creation of actor Kris Andersson, packed her catalogs and left her children in the Alabama trailer park where she spread the word much in the same way that Brownie Wise, Tupperware's first advocate, did in the 1950s.

Her show - "Dixie's Tupperware Party "- is filled with outrageously funny tales, heartfelt accounts, FREE giveaways, audience participation and the most fabulous assortment of Tupperware ever sold on a theater stage. Loaded with the most up to date products available for purchase, see for yourself how Ms. Longate became a member of the illustrious "#1 Tupperware Seller in the World" Club, as she educates her guests on the many alternatives she has discovered for her plastic products!

"With the help of audience members sitting on upstage couches left and right," wrote the Hollywood Reporter, "Dixie, in her baby blue dress with matching eyeshadow and headband around outlandish big red hair, launches into her 100-minute infomercial on the wonders of the ware."

The show originated off-Broadway the Ars Nova Theatre, which earned Dixie a Drama Desk nomination. Since then it has been pleasing audiences for the past 9 years for more than 1,100 performances, earning numerous theater citations in the process.

"Andersson's creation of Dixie is a marvel," wrote the reviewer for the website Theatermania. "Tall and statuesque with a poofy-red wig that could hide Jimmy Hoffa and enough energy to fuel the western seaboard, his Dixie is a nonstop adrenaline boost. With a thick Alabama accent, she speaks so fast, most of her words come out garbled. When she incoherently instructs a poor volunteer to follow directions, it leads to mass hysteria. Irreverent and more than a little nasty, she sexualizes everything and rips apart political correctness."
