In 2019 actor Chace Crawford addressed his sizable bulge in a promotional calendar for the Amazon series "The Boys" that went viral.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at the time, Crawford said he knows "the story behind" the now-infamous bulge photo, but said "The Boys" creator Eric Kripke has him "sworn to secrecy."

This week he came clean about the pic, telling the Daily Mail his character The Deep was supposed to have an unusually large penis for comic effect.

"But the streaming giant became squeamish over the idea and The Deep's package was edited out of the show in post-production," writes the Daily Mail.

The unairbrushed photo of his bulge first appeared in an official Amazon calendar. "Speaking to Daily Mail Australia this week, Chace confirmed the calendar was no mistake and that his character was always supposed to be very well-endowed."

But that his Amazon bosses "freaked out the moment they heard he was wearing a prosthetic penis under his superhero costume."

"[Showrunner Eric] Kripke was like, 'We get no notes from Amazon, but the first one we got was that can't fucking happen, we've got to take that out,' " Crawford said. "And we had to edit it out."

Crawford added that "producers had to use CGI effects to shrink his character's penis in scenes that had already been filmed."
