Del Shores - Sordid Confessions

Funnyman Del Shores follows up his tell-all comedy show "Del Shores: My Sordid Life" with this interactive one-man show, "Del Shores: Sordid Confessions," a funny, raunchy roundup of what he calls his "slut years." Taped at the legendary Rose Room in Dallas during his sold-out, 40-city tour, the DVD is a must for fans of this writer of the gay cult classic "Sordid Lives."

Shores has entertained folks for years with his slice-of-life stories about growing up gay and religious in Texas, saying "That was my problem; I seen Jesus on the cross, and Jesus was hot!" His hit plays include "Southern Baptist Sissies," "Daddy's Dying (Who's Got the Will)" and "The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife." Newly divorced from his boy-toy husband Jason Dottley (who played the most annoying character, Ty Williamson, in the series), Shores admits that he is off the Paxil, a little mean, and terribly candid as he nurses a sore spot for men and their bastard lying ways. He dishes on his time with "Sordid Lives" stars including Rue McClanahan, Dale Dickey and Beth Grant, and airs his dirty laundry on Hollywood backstabbers. In a section called "P.S. F.U.," he reads passages from his favorite hate mail, including his razor-tongued responses, as he notes, "I'm the kind of guy who always writes back." Shores also rips on former "SNL" cast member Victoria Jackson, who made waves for labeling the chaste boy-on-boy kiss on the TV program "Glee" as "sickening." He begins his response to Jackson with, "Dear Fat-Ass, Adulterous Cunt, here are the scriptures that apply to you." Other funny moments include him reading aloud from Bristol Palin's memoir, about her foray into wine coolers and teen sex with Levi Johnston, saying, "Your virginity was not stolen; you traded your pussy for a four-pack of Bartles & Jaymes."

Special features include a behind-the-scenes featurette, interviews with his audience, and bonus footage of his saucy poster photo shoot. And fans of "Sordid Lives" can take heart; although Logo unceremoniously cancelled "Sordid Lives The Series," despite its highest-ever ratings for the network, Shores retains the movie rights, and rumor has it he plans to release two more films.
