Watch: Peacock's 'Queer as Folk' Reboot Coming in June, Gets First Trailer

The new "Queer As Folk" reboot is almost here and it looks saturated with color and steamy from what we can see in new images released by Peacock.

Slated for June 9, the show combines elements from the original 1999 British show by out writer Russell T. Davies and Showtime's 2000 American adaption.

"Like most queer '90s kids, I had a unique relationship with the original 'Queer as Folk,'" said Stephen Dunn, series creator, executive producer, writer and director, in a press release about the show. "Growing up, I was desperate for any sort of connection with people like me."

Watching "Queer As Folk" was the first time he "really felt seen," said Dunn, adding, "I am honored that Russell T. Davies, the creator of the original series, entrusted me to continue this legacy."

Although there is no actual footage of the show, there are things to note in the photos: The cast seems much more diverse than its mostly white predecessors, and a club called Babylon plays a central role in bringing the characters together.

"I'm very proud of what we achieved in 1999, but in queer years, that was a millennium ago," said Davies, who is serving as executive producer on the new series. "I thought it was about time the title belonged to a whole new generation. The 2022 show is more diverse, more wild, more free, more angry - everything a queer show should be."

Stars of the show include Devin Way, Fin Argus, Jesse James Keitel, Candace Grace, Johnny Sibilly, and Ryan O'Connell.
