Why Hot 'Vanderpump Rules' Producer Patrick McDonald Looks Familiar

This piece is part of EDGE's 2023 Rewind series. We're reaching into our archives and sharing some of our favorite stories from the past year.

If breakout "Vanderpump Rules" producer Patrick McDonald looks familiar, it's because it isn't his first foray into TV.

Before McDonald was a producer working shows such as "VPR," "Real Housewives of Potomac," "Real Housewives of Atlanta," "Winter House," "Porsha's Family Matters," and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," he was a cast member on a short-lived Logo TV series called "Fire Island."

No, not Hulu's recent "Fire Island" movie; but equally dramatic and comical. McDonald, now 37, was one of six featured gay men who were sharing a house for summer gaycation, which isn't out of the ordinary for a place like Fire Island.

Well, McDonald was introduced as a bartender, accompanied everywhere by his little dog, Bodhi. The show only lasted one season, but McDonald used the moment from the launch to release an original song titled "Learn to Le You Go."

Luckily for us, he learned to let his music career go and has been working behind the scenes to produce grade A trash TV, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

See why McDonald is sending hearts into a swoon below with some of his social media posts on Instagram as @thepatrickmcdonald.
