Disney Channel Star Karan Brar Comes Out As Bisexual

Another familiar face has come out and shared their truth in the most heart warming of ways.

In an essay published in Teen Vogue, Karan Brar officially came out as bisexual and went into great persona detail about his sexuality and struggles with mental health.

It's a powerful read from the actor who got his start in the 2010 coming-of-age film "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." But there is nothing wimpy about the 24-year-old man he has become today.

He writes about having to split himself into two people, "public Karan and private Karan," and how much it has taken a toll on his mental health.

"I kept pushing myself until cracks started to form," he wrote.

After a particular difficult night out, he wrote about needing to come out to his roommates, fellow Disney peers Cameron Boyce and Sophie Reynolds, and what a relief it was.

"The moment the words left my mouth, I regretted it. I could barely see straight, but I ended up trying to do some damage control anyway," he recalled. "The best thing I could think of came stumbling out of my mouth: "If you guys want me to move out I can. Just give me two weeks to figure it ou–"

They interrupted him, "hugging me from behind," he shared. "Again, I told them I should move out. They told me I was being stupid. I told them I'd cover for them if people asked why we didn't live together anymore... they said my bisexuality changed nothing for them."

Head over to Teen Vogue to read his complete essay, and it just might be one of the most important things you read this week.

Congratulations, Karan!
