Gymnastics seems to be one of the sports where more LGBTQ+ athletes are starting to come out and flourish. The artistic possibilities and liberties granted by the expressions of the sport help queer people mold themselves into their truest selves on the biggest stages. Heath Thorpe deserves recognition as one of the best out gymnasts competing worldwide today!
Thorpe is an Australian gymnast who received notoriety after competing in the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He's still trying to climb the mountain and become one of the best in the world. We'll certainly be rooting for him as the Olympics approach this summer. In the meantime, let's take a look at his Instagram to learn more about him.
Thorpe recently returned home to Sydney and shared some of his best pictures and videos. Fans wished they could have come with the gymnast and enjoyed the beautiful sights and sounds of Australia (and the views of Thorpe shirtless, of course).
Thorpe worked out with the Belgian gymnastics team in March and took fans through a day in his life with the team. From impressive flips on the beams to a healthy lunch in between, Thorpe wants to stay prepared and always improve on his craft with a dedication to the sport and new experiences.
Thorpe knows he possesses some serious model energy, which he shows off in a flashy yet comfy sweater photoshoot in London. A look at Thorpe's abs in the first picture makes for a great thirst trap.
Thorpe sported a sexy swimsuit on the beach in Victoria heading into 2024. He kindly answered fans in the comments section who wanted to know where they could purchase the cute trunks he was wearing in the post.
Thorpe shows his respect and genuine curiosity for gymnastics beyond just competing as he interviews one of the greatest athletes in the history of sports: Simone Biles! Thorpe asked thoughtful questions that allowed Biles to reflect on her journey and most recent competitions. Olympics and other sports definitely need more athletes who respect each other and encourage one another, especially when it crosses over between male and female competitions.
Thorpe shows how he maintains and expands his flexibility and skills with some drills that look like they'd put us in the hospital! From the splits to the spins, Thorpe definitely can move his body in ways other people simply can't imagine trying to.
Thorpe reflects on his time training and performing in Sydney with a photo dump of some incredible highlights. Friends, snuggle time with his cat, and a view of the city illustrate the fulfilling time of growth in Thorpe's life.
Thorpe goes hyper-masculine and sexy with some pictures of his time in the woods. Fans were pleasantly surprised to see the star show off some thirst traps outside of the typical confines of the gym.
Not everybody who comes out tries hard to inspire others, but Thorpe has been instrumental in pushing for LGBTQ+ acceptance in Australia and the surrounding regions. He thanks his mother for supporting him and giving him the strength and courage to live his best life and lift other queer athletes up, as well.
This is the best gay crossover we could have hoped for! Thorpe meets legendary queer Olympic diver Tom Daley and his husband, Dustin Lance Black. It's awesome to see Thorpe learning from one of the original LGBTQ+ inspirations in the sports world.
Thorpe shows us some gorgeous views in Lowestoft and a selfie of himself more vibrant than the summer sunshine. Flowers, water, and older village homes make this a nostalgic post.
Thorpe commemorates a trip to the 2022 Oceania Championships with a shot of his goods front and center. His flexibility certainly helps him post some unorthodox yet steamy thirst traps for the fans.
Thorpe looks ready for a night out on the town with this stunning black ensemble sparkling in the moonlight. It turns out that he looks just as handsome with clothes on as he does shirtless.
